My mom has an iPhone 11 that is not booting. I could get it to the Apple logo but then it would shut down and try and boot again. At one point it had the apple logo and a pattern that went across the screen that looked like it was an error or display issue.

Any ideas on what I can do to get the phone going again or does it sound like it is time to replace? Any software that would let me get access to the hard drive to pull anything off of it like photos?

Tried hooking it up to a Mac with DFU mode?

Just did that and tried running the update but it failed. Trying once more. I think this is a hardware issue that won't be fixable. I will try a restore after that but think it just might be time to update.
Boot loops are a common problem in iPhones, but its origins of these issues stem from Both hardware and software sides.

Based on the current situation you described, screen abnormalities and failed DFU mode may signal a logic board problem or physical damage to the iPhone. Has it been dropped in any way?

Also is the battery health low on this iPhone prior to this incident? If so, did it had any unexpected shutdown or is this the first time this happened?

And everything from iCloud or Finder backup came out fine right?
I think I did sign her up for an iCloud plan before so her photos should be all backed up in the cloud, other then that it is just apps so downloading is no big deal. Nothing can be gotten off the bad iPhone now, connecting gives no access.

It restored into the new iPhone right?

And I understand the iPhone 11 has a non functional display, so it’s hard to do a direct transfer.

When you don’t want the iPhone 11, feel free to trade it in or recycle it at a local Apple Store. It’s the earth day 🌲 promo now so if you trade it in you can get a 10% off discount on an OEM Apple accessories

No, nothing restored on the iPhone, it does not work. No access to files, or anything on the iPhone. It is essentially a brick with an Apple logo that shows sometimes.

I understand it boot looped but I just wanted to make sure that the iPhone 17 has all the files from iCloud in there 😉
