You just opened the flood gates with this one! Some say cases in general aren't worth it, some say yes, absolutely. Personally when it comes to protecting the camera area or even the rest of the phone, I think it all depends on how rough you are with your phones. Some folks are very OCD with the condition of their phones, others couldn't care less. Guess it's all personal preference. I for one try to use cases that will protect the camera area when laid down, same for the screen area as well, but that's just me.

I can see where it might come in handy depending on the quality of the camera cover, it might be good for those who choose to go without a case all of the time and set their iPhone on a metal table or the concrete etc. I don’t need it because I use cases on my iPhone all the time and that device would have to be case friendly.
