Hi.

Since the Friday I got my iPhone 11 Pro (what a mouthful) my GPS has gone bonkers while driving in Apple Maps via Carplay. It will have the blue dot far away from the road I am on, spitting out directions as if I am going the wrong way, and more. This has occurred in rural and urban areas with a high and a low signal so that does not appear to be the issue.

I doubt Carplay is issue since it simply mirrors the iPhone.

Any ideas? A precedent of this? Anyone else experiencing this?

Thanks in advance!

Oh god. I have an 8 with horrible GPS (common issue). I’ve been eagerly awaiting upgrading my phone because I use GPS almost daily, and it’s nearly a safety hazard. If the new models have more GPS problems, I’m done with Apple I think.

I believe most GPS issues stem from the Intel modems in many of these iPhone. When I am indoors, it takes a few seconds or never really lock on to my exact location. However, when using it for navigation, I have not experience much issues on my XS Max

Sadly my 8 is the coveted Qualcomm chip. When using any Maps app, the pointer drifts all over the map, freezes, misses turns, refuses to reroute. It’s endlessly frustrating. A quick reddit search shows dozens of 8/X owners with the same problem. I can’t believe it’s never gotten more attention around here.

My exact issue.

I too was surprised by how little this was discussed on forums... Was on phone with Apple support for an hour with multiple people until I could not handle it anymore...

"Is there an update for maps in the Apple Store update tab?"....

I have not heard of anyone else experiencing my issues.
