Hi I've been considering upgrading from my 6s to an 11 pro max for a while now, but have been wondering if the phone may see a slight drop in price soon. Is there a possibility that could happen soon or is this unlikely?

Thanks :)

I highly doubt you'll see a price drop from Apple anytime soon especially after posting their earnings from this last quarter. Even tough iPhone sales were down other areas made up for it.

I have a 6s+ and I want to upgrade so I’m in the same boat.
Since the 12 is supposed to debut in September the 11’s will come down but when and by how much is anyone’s guess.
I’m considering a refurb 11 from Amazon, great reviews and I can use it and send it back for a refund.

Really hoping it can drop by something even if its only a little, the phone has been out for 8 months now and is still at its original selling price so I was assuming it was due to drop by a little. If it doesn't ill be tempted to hold out till the 12.

iPhone 12 is being delayed so it might be close to November

iPhone prices do not drop unless a new flagship model is out.

Apple don’t do price drops, they don’t need to. It’s likely they’ll end the 11 range and it will only be available from third party sellers, especially as there are more size options and another SE Plus rumoured for early next year, I don’t see much room or point keeping them available.

Apple never did this until the next gen arrived.
But 3rd party sellers always do by about $/€100-200. so why do you wait for apple?

Highly unlikely my Xs max is still selling for $1799 AUS.

A month ago one of the retail stores down here had it for $1200 for a few weeks.

You might get a one off sale here and there.

They don't happen often though.

Not accurate. Even if Apples earnings were subpar, that doesn’t warrant a price drop. Apple’s price drops typically only reflect if the latest product is slated to be announced and/or Pre-clearing inventory of the previous product to make way for the new product. Typically it’s products that are generally updated annually, not so much for products like the HomePod, etc.

I don't understand what your trying to point out.. I wasn't saying Apple had a bad quarter. I was saying Apple's earnings were fine this quarter consider everything going on.. Apple won't be giving any price break anytime soon is pretty accurate

Only their mainstream and lower end get price drops. Usually for two years when new devices are released before being dropped from the lineup entirely. High end ($1K+) just gets discontinued and replaced by new high end without any price drops.

However, while Apple doesn’t officially drop MSRP on their high end devices you might find deals at carriers and authorized resellers.

I don’t think the 11 Pro Max will go on any kind of “sale” until after the 12 Pro Max is released. There’s no reason for them to offer a lower price. This is just how Apple works. They know how to make their money. You may get better deals on Amazon/eBay, but they are mostly for renewed (refurbished) products so that’s the sacrifice you make for buying at a cheaper price.
