Guys, I have an iPhone 11 Pro Max 256GB since a week ago to replace my amazing iPhone X. While the Pro is outstanding in almost everything, I feel like if it is having an issue with both wifi and data connections. I’ll try to explain it as good as I can but sorry beforehand if not good enough.

The issue is with the “first” connection. For example, in Safari, if I load a new page, it takes like 20 seconds before it is loaded. After that, it is fine. It also happens with apps than connect to the internet. With Speedtest app, for example, it stays at “Connecting” for a long while and then the test runs fine with acceptable speeds. It happens with both data and wifi connections. I already restarted the phone but still the same. I performed the same test with the iPhone X and it doesn’t have this issue.

I was thinking on a Reset Network Settings but I don’t know if it only resets the wifi things or also the data ones. What would be the approach to follow if reseting the network settings is not succesful? Is it something worth a visit to the Apple Store?

Thanks!

Try reset network settings.

It will not clear anything necessary, but your WiFi network logins will be cleared.

I turned off settings and did a reset of the network settings and it now seems to work fine. Thanks for your help!

Turn off bluetooth from settings and try again. It'll fix it.

Try and use 5 GHz wifi.
I’m curious is Bluetooth causing interference to 2.4GHz WiFi? I know they are on the same band but I don’t expect interference from just leaving it on.

Turn off WiFi assist. I had the same issue and it fixed the problem for me.

thanks but it didn’t work for me
I think the issue is that my router is 2,4 ghz band and it needs 5 GHz band. I will try it with new router and I will let you know thanks again

Somewhat related issue, not sure where else to post this...
My XS gets literally half the download speed as my wife’s 7plus. It’s on the 5Ghz band. Did a network settings reset, hard restart. Nothing. I get at best 55/60 mbps, my wife’s phone always maxes out at 100mbps (which is what we pay for). Any ideas? My MBP (mid 2015) also seems to Max out around 50/60mbps which makes me think I’ve got some weird iCloud backup/syncing issue hogging my bandwidth. Tries this at all times of day and it’s really quite consistent... Tips appreciated!

Sorry for the late post, but this seems like a DNS issue. Try setting your DNS to a reliable server, such as Google or CloudFlare (1.1.1.1 or 1.0.0.1).
