Just picked up both of our phones. No one was inside the UPS CC. Not surprising, but he did say they had been busy.

Going back to the post where UPS said no signature was required. I had my ID out ready to show to him, he asked for my street address, went back, got the phones, scanned them, made me sign his scanner thingy, then out the door I went.

I guess I'm a little concerned he didn't check my ID.

The ups truck is a mile from me doing the rounds. I’m very tempted to just intercept the truck at a stop and ask nicely for my iPhone.

i feel like it would either work or get the police called.

Drove past the gps location and didn’t see the truck. I bet you there’s a lag for this exact reason. To prevent ups stalkers.

Old phone running iOS 13? I was going to restore from my encrypted iTunes backup but this sounds easier. Maybe I'll just upgrade my old phone to iOS 13 and do this.

You don't have to upgrade to iOS13 even. I forget what the mininum iOS you have to be on to work. I think it is more about having hardware that supports NFC.

This is my first time pre-ordering from Apple and doing in store pick up. When I get there, will there be two lines: one for people that didn't pre-order and one for people that did and have a pickup window? Or are we all going to be lugged into the same line?

I always do a clean install. Feels like it helps the battery for some reason

And that's probably the best way to go but takes too much time and energy for me. I've been restoring from encrypted backup for a few years, might try migration this year.

I looked back at the original order email and it turns out it didn't say Sept 20.

Which is weird because I ordered right at 5 AM, I saw the waiting screen in the Apple store, I pre-pre ordered the day before for the Apple device payment plan, etc. But the order email says Sept 27-Oct 1. I don't remember the website saying that when I ordered (I would have changed color or something).

I'm still not happy with the situation. Apple logistics is usually top notch and now a bunch of 5AM orders are delayed.

Exactly I finished before three after, had pickup today at 730-8p today from order confirmation until the last minute this morning I get a delay due to logistics issues email 🙁

My truck is so close to my office right now. It's so tempting to want to go try to just get this over with!
