The other important question: How successful do we think it will be to pop out the SIM in the new phone and put in the SIM from the old phone, to avoid "activation" fees?
I already got charged my activation fee from Verizon, the only way to avoid activation fee that I am aware of is to buy sim free phone paid in full, or to call your carrier and complain.

edit:
after reading a few other posts I could be wrong, When my new phone comes today, I am going to switch sims before turning it on to see if it works......

Looks like the truck is only a few blocks away, usually we get deliveries from UPS around 4pm, but where the truck is now it usually isnt there until 2pm. So looks like I should have it by noon or so!

Sorry, preordered but there was a reeediculous line for those of us stupid enough to preorder a nottoo different phone with a crap intel modem which is why I want to get rid of this one. C ya boys. Tim can EAD on this one.

Ahhhh yes,
The beauty of iPhone launch day is not only in the gorgeous new hardware, but that for 10 days since it was announced, we are in a way united. It happens to fall the same month as the 9/11 tragedy, and this forum really kind of shows the best of people. No one is bickering or caring about politics, just enjoying the camaraderie and rooting for everyone here to get their devices ASAP and be happy!! For many iPhone peoIt’s a union that I’ll bet android phones can’t match.
Having said that, FedEx just delivered my ATT phone to my apartment office, and UPS will hand me the other one at the CC center in about an hour.
Hoorah!!

Fascinating. They told me they only charge an activation fee if you order the phone from them. I just looked at my bill, current and next, no activation fee. Maybe you should call them.

I've always been amused by the temporary community that forms around iPhone deliveries every year. We're all happy to anticipate and get our new stuff. Then once we do, we mostly disappear again until the next batch of upgraders next year.

This is why I'm just going to move my SIM card over from my old phone. I don't want to deal with possible activation fees.

Grumble grumble grumble not happy that I can't see a time estimate or follow my delivery on mine. I hope it comes early.

I tried that last year and it caused all sorts of issues with my new phone. I ended up having to contact Verizon to acttivate, and still was charged the "Upgrade"/"activation" fee :-(

UPS does not know where my phone is. Went to the CC as I had requested it to be held. Never got the ready for pickup scan. Only the destination scan this morning. CC people were super nice and tried calling supervisors but the last “physical” scan they see was yesterday in Kentucky. They say all the rest of the scans are “virtual” scans and that my phone never made it to Newark or to the CC despite what I see as arrives, departure and destination scans.... Did not know about “virtual” scans vs. “physical”. So I left empty handed and now I’m on hold with UPS customer service. They said it will probably turn up somewhere today and make it back to the CC tonight or in the morning (but holding for CC pickup means I won’t be able to get it until Monday at the earliest). Frustrating but - oh well - first world problem for sure.

What a bummer. And although it's a 1st world problem, you have a right to be upset even though you know other people have more serious problems.

Mine says out for delivery... Mexican UPS > U.S. UPS

how can you know this?

I use total wireless. It runs off the Verizon network. $57 a month for 2 lines and unlimited data (30gb LTE.) I buy my phone from Apple and then activate on Total Wireless. No additional fees.

I think it's 12.

Honestly, it’s probably better to keep your old phone on iOS 12, then do your normal restore to the new phone where it’ll automatically update your backup to ios 13. IMO, the prob with doing TWO upgrades to iOS 13 is TWICE the chance of having bugs/glitches! The first few hours after an update is when your phone goes through the re-indexing of ALL your data and ALL your apps, this can slow down the new phone and even make it hot to the touch (sometimes) from all the background processes. You can just restore your ios12 phone backup to the new phone that has ios13, then maybe reset your network settings to be in sync with iOS 13. Just my few cents!

I’ll pick mine up soon at the ups CC but won’t have time to open the box until later tonight. I’ve got to leave work early and load a couple horses and take off for PA.

In my city, all business deliveries are completed before residential start

Same here. Seattle here area. Mine says delivery 3PM. It does't say 'by 3PM' or 'after 3PM', just says'3PM' so I'm not exactly sure what that means.

Is it just me or did they not turn on GPS for these deliveries? I've had deliveries recently where you can track the truck using an online map on UPS's website.

We have two iPhones coming to my address. One is on a separate truck, and THAT one has a delivery estimate of 3:00 pm.

Mine has no delivery estimate nor any GPS. Grumble grumble grumble.

I have been mulling the idea of moving to a verizon MNVO. How do you find Total Wireless' speeds?
