Hello there

I am a bit confused by what people means with real battery life. When they say "one day", is it from 6am to 6pm or 6am to midnight?
Also, what is the actual battery life of the iPhone Pro when the screen is constantly turned on? What about when the screen is off and a combination of both?

I understand it depends on usage but honestly, would a regular usage between 2 persons drastically differs in battery life?

You’ll have to wait a few days for some of those answers, majority haven’t had their phone a complete day yet to be able to report back any usage data yet.

Had my phone just under 24 hours, I restored from my XS backup. The battery so far is no worse and no better than my XS so far. Maybe after a couple of days it’ll improve? Who knows.

I got my phones yesterday and fully charged it by 2pm. Woke up been on my phone for a bit this morning. I’m currently on 55%.

I’d say the battery is pretty amazing.

On the new iPhone, the % number is not indicated next to the battery symbol? I have a 6S & waiting for batch 2 before upgrading to Pro.

Ok thanks.

So I fully charged my iPhone at 13:33 and he died at 00:42. Screen shows 7h25 but only 36min off. I don’t understand because both should be showing 11 hours when added. This is on my 6S which I changed the battery recently. So I will use this as a baseline.

Do you think the Pro will get better than what I experienced in battery life?🤓

It’s just indexing. It should get better in a couple days. Plus it’s a new phone you may be using it a little bit more than you normally would.

Yeah my daily usage just can vary. Sometimes I use my phone more like at work and less when at home on the weekend.

like today I took my phone off the charger at 6:30am and it’s 11:37am now. I have watched YT videos off and on for the last several hours and a couple of texts. My Apple Watch and LG headset are connected via Bluetooth. I’m at 86%. Been the average.
I got to bed a night with about 50-60% of battery left.

When people say real life battery they just mean with normal usage. All of the battery claims refer to hours of playback: music, videos, etc. That is not how most people think of battery.

Take UrbanGeek's post above mines. That is a good example of real life battery. You have an idea of his usage and what he is ending his day with. Seems like a phone that will have no issues lasting all day for a heavy user.

Another example. Monday-Saturday I am a pretty light user (text, some forums, email). I end those days with around 35% (iPhone X). On Sunday I have fantasy football apps going and am on my phone for hours. I usually have to do a mid day recharge. Real life battery can be way different based on usage, even for the same person.

Ok. So my iPhone 6S lasted 11h today with 5h30 of screen time. Could I expect more with a Pro, you think?
