Because ip11 was embarrassingly big in the first place with big bezels. It was bigger than it was supposed to be due to the old tech limitations - just like ip8 plus.

It isn't, unless you've made some kind of error.

The 14 Pro Max is about 1.5 inches taller than iPhone 11.

I think it is 1.5 inches taller the case. Not 100% sure.
