So I recently had a drunken adventure and my 11 was smashed. I went to my local iPhone repair store I always go to and have had amazing service to get it repaired for 138 bucks.
Everything is working well except Face ID.
Everytime I try to set up it basically just closes.
Now this is my first Face ID device. I never had any issues with my Touch ID phones.

1. Is it possible they messed something up.
2. Is this just a byproduct of me using a 3rd party.
I do have a warranty and can take it back for them to look at. Just wanted to get feedback

Error 59 “gate” again I guess.
For the uninitiated, this is an error code thrown by iOS for complaining a screen that is not calibrated by Apple or authorised third parties.

I just looked it up. I get it. This is one of Apple “security measures”

Correct. As another member alluded to, ‘Error 59’ was a significant discussion back with the iPhone 7 with Touch ID when third party repair stores were ‘locked out‘ from repairs on the iPhone. It’s the same concept here with Face ID, but you have to have a ‘fallback safety‘ measure protocol with a phone like this given the sensitivity for counterfeiting fraud measures.
