Anyone going to switch from an iPhone 11 to the SE 3 because of 5G, I really like the size of the 11 but want 5G and can’t use another iPhone due to PWM,opinions?

No MmWave And not sure if the SE3 has C-Band on the modem . If that’s the case stay with IPhone 11

I wouldn’t worry about 5G, it’s a big money grab, gimmick.

Didn’t even notice a difference on my 13 pro max when using 5G.

Told my carrier to cancel it, not paying them extra coin for a gimmick service.

4G is more than good enough.

What honestly is the benefit of 5G on a cell phone? The move from 3G to 4G was obviously significant, but I’ve never had a reason to complain about mobile data speeds since then.
In absolute terms, no difference. Reality doesn't check out:
Had all the line-up of 12/mini and 13/mini and all worked fine on 5G. Had XR last month, the same Cellular provider, but 4G works really bad like 2-3 times worse. So overall, everyone need to test it out for themselves.

As per the subject, liked my SE2020 for fast purchases using touchid, i am sure to like it with the SE3.

How's 5G coverage in your area? Is it really useful? You have to really consider the tradeoff going from the 11 to the 2022 SE. You'll lose battery life, night mode, ultra wide lens, larger screen, gigabit LTE, and ultra wideband.

Don't really need 5G on a mobile phone. 4G is more than enough for browsing and watching video. What else would you do on your smartphone that would strictly require 5G?

Yep, it’s just another money grab from Qualcomm & carriers, also gives tech companies another reason to put their prices up.

5G has a purpose, and sooner or later, it will be the norm. In many dense cities, 4G is actually over saturated already. With 3G being shuttered, 5G is needed for the capacity alone. Considering everything today is connected to cell network, 5G is inevitable.

5G on is actually super fast in my area, the battery on my 11 is garbage, I’ve had it since day one and played a lot of pokemon go on it, I don’t really care about screen size, but the one feature I will miss is the U1 chip

If you think the 11 battery is garbage, then you will be severely disappointed with the SE. The iPhone 11 has some of the best battery life for an iPhone, beating even the iPhone 12 Pro.

If you want a phone for Pokémon Go, either get the Pro Max or an Android phone with 6000mAh battery. Constant GPS will drain the SE’s tiny battery really fast.

My 11’s battery capacity is at 77%, I’m really not playing pokemon go much anymore, and as I said in the first post getting a pro is out of the options due to pwm, unless I pay a bunch of money to have it switched to LCD

The 11 feels great in the hand to me. Sometimes I wish it was my phone. I have two 5G iPhones, there's no difference. lol

The screen on your 11 and the gestures for navigating make that a much better phone. The SE form factor feels extremely dated to me. I can't imagine going back to that.

Then I would just replace the 11's battery. Much cheaper than buying a new phone.

Yes check to make sure you carriers bands are on the device you pick up. Plus 5 G is still in Its early stages. Won’t see full 5 g until the next few years

Putting a LCD screen in a phone that is supposed to have an OLED screen will damage the display driver eventually.. Not recommended

I have an iPhone 13 with 5G. Can someone please detail exactly what app or workflow is significantly improved over LTE because I see absolutely zero benefit and I’m on 5Guc? I don’t care about speedtest results, that’s like saying my new car has 800hp vs the 500hp I had before - great for bragging, little use beyond drag racing. Even streaming 4K UHD video only requires 15Mbps, and regular HD is 5Mbps. The only use case I can think of is regularly needing to upload and download 500GB video files you’re shooting in the field (that can’t wait till you get to a Wi-Fi spot)

A little perspective here. 5G is awesome with blazing speeds etc. But on a 3rd gen SE? Take your 11 LTE speed tests and you will probably notice ~50-100Mbps downloads. Now with 5G, you may get 300+Mbps.

With the limited battery output on the 3rd gen SE already, how much difference will you notice the 5G download speed increase at the expense of a significant loss of battery life. Visiting a website? Checking email? Texting? Watching a HD movie? Nothing close to make you take pause.

Maybe games, but then you are already burning your battery with graphics demand. And I much rather play games on a bigger screen with a phone that has a bigger battery like the 11, which will only cost $70 to replace.
