iPhone 11 Pro Iphone 11 why only 2x Zoom?

This is the third year of 2x zoom. I expected at least 3x or 5x this year, it was even rumoured last year that it would have 5x this year.

Samsung is going to be offering a minimum of 5x optical zoom next year, while Huawei already do so.

Do you think Apple will up theirs to at least 5x next year?

I ordered the iPhone 11 partly because I felt the 2x zoom was sort of useless for me. Was much more interested in the ultra wide lens. But if it was more than 2x I might have considered the iPhone Plus instead.

Same fo me. 52 mm lens can't be realistically called "telephoto", it would have limited benefit.
I went to 11 and considering a future upgrade to Pro version next year, once we see presence of a 4x/5x optical zoom feature.
