Hi.

1. Dropped iPhone 11.
2. NO SIM message.

Opened it. Cleaned SIM tray. Tried to unplug cord and re-plug.
Now just getting "add cellular plan" when I click the "Cellular".
In notification center (or whatever it's called - still getting NO SIM).

What do you guys think? Motherboard issue or SIM tray issue? Or perhaps something else I should try?

Advice is welcomed.

Thanks so much!

It doesn't look like any structural damage occurred to the reader/tray. Did you try to remove the SIM tray to see if the card isn't seated properly? I'd try that first and if it still gives you issues you might try a different card just to eliminate that possibility. I guess the connection to the board may of come loose so that's another possibility. If all those are fine I'd say something board level may have failed

Did you find an answer to this? Also could you read my thread and give opinion on it? Im surprised you could even click on add cellular plan when you click cellular because it shows OFF for cellular for me and when i click on it, nothing shows.

Just to update the thread:

I am not sure why this time it worked, but I removed the SIM cradle again (the entire thing - see here:

then, this time pushed some air into it, used a soft brush as well, and even managed to find a tiny screw around the battery (I either missed it myself or who knows - this iPhone is in pretty banged up shape).

In any case, It WORKED.

I now have cellular reception.

Hope this will last.

This YouTube Video really helped navigate the inside as well:

iPhone 11 No SIM card Installed fix 2021.

My next challenge is to repair FACE ID, but idk - this might be above my paygrade (will post a new thread for that).

Thanks for the help!
