hey folks,

i have a coral xr 64 gb and have broken its screen in bottom corner. has been working fine for over 6-7 months now with crack , not noticeable in daily usage but would like a not broken phone.

i am looking at used 11PM now but kind of bothered by size. I used big phones in the past but 11PM feels like a monster. I have two options

1. replace XR with XR in used market for $80-$90 with a brand new XR ( getting a good deal on a used one)
2. add $375 to get a available 11PM 256GB in used market. not brand new but v clean with no scratch and screen protector.

not interested in new phones till 120 hz , no notch , significant upgrades to camera, battery & form factor

Hi,

I currently have a XR, too. Think about upgrading to IP12 or IP 11 pro Max.
When compating XR and 11 pro Max (Apple website):

IP11 pro Max
Height: 158.0 mm (6.22 inches)
Width: 77.8 mm (3.06 inches)
Depth: 8.11 mm (0.32 inches)
Weight: 226 grams (7.97 ounces)

IP XR
Height: 150.9 mm (5.94 inches)
Width: 75.7 mm (2.98 inches)
Depth: 8.3 mm (0.33 inches)
Weight: 194 grams (6.84 ounces)

As you can see, both devices are not that different regarding dimensions.
Only issue might be that 11 pro Max is much heavier. This you have to check.
Other option would be a brand new IP 12 (non pro). Here in germany, IP12 and 11 pro max have almost same price.

Any reason why you don't just opt for an iPhone 11?
It seems like you don't like large phones so why not opt for a regular 11?
Still an upgrade from the XR without breaking the bank.

I am in Canada and they changed the plans so I have a cheap old plan and if I buy iPhone my plan will move up. I like the 12 that it is so much lighter than even XR & standard pro. It is going to be v noticeable.
While owning XR I missed the premium feeling of pro & stainless steel. Pro max is v heavy but at the same time so premium & great device. Leaning on pro max 11 but somehow know I will be frustrated by size on occasions.

iPhone 11 adds nothing over XR for me

11 pro max adds oled, telephoto lens, premium build. At the same time happy with XR screen too and in pandemic I ain’t shooting anything other than walls of bedroom ?

The 11 Pro Max is quite a large and heavy phone, if you are okay with that then you will absolutely love it!

Main advantages would be:
- The large OLED HDR10 screen
- The very best Battery Life of any iPhone even compared to the latest 12s
- 18W Fast Charger in the box (if the seller is selling it to you with accessories)
- Great camera array that’s comparable to the latest Pro
- Stainless Steel build

Well worth it for the batter life alone.

thanks for the reply. Ya I am leaning towards the 256 pro max. Would cost an extra $400 to upgrade over XR. Just need to to get over the size part and it may help me reduce my nonsense overtime use in bed. ?
