Sorry if this has been asked / discussed before. Couldn’t find any answer for the following question:

What is the focal length of the iPhone 12/mini front camera when zoomed out?
I understand the spec says 23mm. But is this for the standard no zoomed out or the zoomed out one? And is this zoom feature a digital effect or optical?

My initial guess is the zoomed out focal length is 23mm while the non zoomed out is slightly digitally cropped for less distortion during selfie / video call. The zoomed out is meant for group selfie.

As I went from iPhone 6, this zoomed out selfie cam is new for me. Are the previous iPhones already have this feature?

My iPhone X did not have this feature, not sure about the XS and 11 series.
