Thinking of getting a reconditioned base model 12.

Does it perform acceptably in 2023 with iOS 17?

I'll just use the phone for 'regular' apps and not gaming.

I don't mind the:

- Cameras. AI/ML upscaling will be amazing in a few years anyway.
- RAM. We'll all need new models to run 'ChatGPT Siri' soon enough.
- Storage. I don't have many apps, nor do I need to keep loads of content with me. That's what the cloud is for.

Thanks!

The base of 64 GB is the killer of that deal in my opinion as it is no where enough storage if you plan to keep the phone more then a couple years. At the very least I would recommend a phone with 128 GB storage. The actual phones are nice but even with light usage you will be quickly running into storage problems running with iOS 17. iOS 17 needs around 3 GB of storage to run but will require at least 10 GB to install.

A interesting thing happen when I went with base storage of 128 GB on my iPhone 14 Pro I had it a year and the last 3 months before the 15 Pro came out I was getting storage limited messages and I was in the state of uploading to the cloud and deleting apps that were needed but I knew I screwed up getting the base model 14 Pro and it was on me but I waited until the new phones came out and I got a 512 GB 15 Pro. Right now I am at 123 GB on my current phone and I have plenty of storage on it.

64GB storage is more than enough—- if you don’t hoard video clips and tons of photos on your iPhone.
I have a 64GB IP6S Plus and I have 40 GB free.
