A friend said her daughter dropped her iPhone 12 in the toilet. They took it to AT&T to get another phone and she says the guy there said it shouldn't have had that much water go in in a short period of time.

And yes, I know, kids don't always tell the whole store.

I'm planning to be near an Apple Store next week (we live hours away). Would it be worth it to have Apple take a look to see if it might be covered under warranty? From what they've said, it's never been dropped, screen isn't cracked, so no normal damage that would allow water to get in.

Alright, yeah, I forgot about that they don't cover water damage. I always have AppleCare+ and have never had to deal with water damage.

Thanks.
