I bought the black leather case for my iPhone 12 from Amazon German. It came in this new pull-out type of box. The overall quality and feel seems okay but not as premium as I thought it would be… So I asked myself if I got a fake case. I studied the internet to find out what makes the genuine case different from a fake one. I was shocked how good the fakes are nowadays! Same packaging as the original apple case, same look and same feel. The best way to check would be the animation when you put on the MagSafe case. Check - I got that animation.

Then I saw a video on YouTube that showed the newest fake cases WITH ANIMATION!! So how can you tell real from fake now?

It is nothing new that some people order real cases from Amazon, change them against fake ones and send them back. Is there anything left to tell if I got a real or a fake case from Amazon?

I own a lot of Apple stuff and lots of accessories.. but this leather case just feels fake.

I'd say if it's gotten to the point where you can't tell the difference, it's probably not worth fretting over.

If it's something you can't ignore, buy directly from Apple.

Except that if there's an issue with it and it's a fake one, Apple may refuse to honor any warranty.
