Hey, i am planning to buy iPhone 12 Mini but i am still hesitating about storage capacity size
My current iPhone (first gen SE) has only 32 GB which is obviously almost full
In the other hands, i have also an iPad with 64 GB, no media contents, few games (4/5 at best) -> 48 GB / 64 GB
If i subscribe to iCloud 50 GB, do i still need 128 GB?
No problem for pictures/videos/movies, i can save it and transfer to my NAS
My only concern is even though i will save media contents on my NAS, i am still thinking 64 GB would be a bit short
What do you think?
Thanks

I have an 64 GB iPhone SE (1st gen.) and I'm only using 32GB of it now, I'm not a hoarder who has to have every picture I ever took and every song I've ever listened to on my phone. I'll spend the $50 savings on accessories.

I've currently got a 64GB iPhone 6 and am using 22GB of it (I subscribe to 50GB iCloud). It doesn't sound to me like you need more than the 64GB. Having said that, I'll probably get the 128GB Mini myself, because I hope to keep it for as long as I've had the 6 (which I've just realised is 6 years .... so maybe not quite that long!). I want the additional capacity to future-proof it. For what it's worth, I use way more space on my iPad than iPhone, especially when I travel because I like to download shows to watch.

For iCloud, if you choose to save your photos on the cloud, it will automatically be removed from your device (correct me if I am wrong, this was from my use). But saving photos on the cloud isn't a bad idea, I use a 50gb plan to backup my device.

If you plan to keep the phone for a year, get the 64gb and a 50gb iCloud plan. But if you plan to keep for 2+ years and don't trade in the device, get the 128gb.

I wouldn’t do 64GB, if for no other reason than future proofing the phone. I’ve had so many friends that thought they were saving money by getting the 64GB... eventually, they all regret it. Either they have to delete things to take more pictures or to install OS updates.

While 128GB sounds nice for $50 more, I just don’t need it. On my current iPhone I have about 40GB free space out of 64GB. I only keep my phones for a year so if 64GB ever isn’t enough it means my use has changed and I can re-evaluate the following year.

But, if you’re keeping the phone longer definitely go with 128GB.
