So I had the 12 pro since launch day. Love that phone but I’ve been itching for the 12 mini. So I pulled the trigger yesterday and I’m now at almost 24 hours with the mini. I honestly love it and don’t really miss my pro at all. But, unfortunately theirs a but. I don’t know if the battery will be tolerable for me. I’m pretty heavy user. Nothing crazy but a bit heavier then average. Which sucks because I genuinely like the mini more. Anyway happy with the battery on this thing? Do you guys who own a mini have any secrets for the battery?

I mean you can fast charge for the last couple of years already- is your use case really that extreme that you feel you need to recharge during the day?

With the iPhone 12 Pro and 11 pro I did not need to charge during the day. And for me that was perfect and convenient. I’m worried that will have to charge the mini maybe 2/3 into my day but maybe just to get a couple percent. Idk I’ll have to see how it is for a week I’m hoping it will work out because this is my favorite iPhone to date.

Eventual MagSafe battery packs, or just keeping it topped up would help. Battery only you can test out by daily use

Can you charge the phone during the day? If so, it shouldn't be a problem with you being a heavy user.

Yeah charging during the day isn’t really a problem. Just like to avoid it for convenience. I guess I’m just spoiled coming from a 11 pro and 12 pro. Those phones have outstanding battery.

If you need to get more than 6 hrs SoT, you will need to charge during the day. 20 - 30 minutes should be sufficient to get you over the battery hump.

If you are around a charger during the day, shouldn’t matter. As others have said, it charges fast. I only have an 18 watt charger and my Mini will go from 30% to 80% in like 30 minutes

Yes that's the good thing about the 12 Mini, it charges to full insanely fast even just using a 2.1 amp charger, let alone the 18/20 watt chargers. It charges faster than my 2nd Gen SE, which has an even smaller battery, so i swear Apple must have put in some tech to charge even faster than previous gen iphones.

OP, if you don't have a 5G connection, then in Mobile Data options make sure you toggle it to 4G, as by default its set to 5G on which kills battery life.

There are a lot of ways to improve battery life. Besides Dark Mode, you can also choose black wallpaper. This also increases the time you can't see the notch, making for a better look. Don't need 5G even if available? Turn it off. Turn brightness down. This is the first iPhone I've owned that I've turned brightness down, not needing it.

The Mini is also the first phone I've ever owned going back over 20 years I've not plugged in overnight. An hour on a 5 watt charger brings it up an additional 47%. Which is more than enough for me for the entire day.
