I got a 12 mini and came from an X and noticed the screen isn't as bright in sunlight. I noticed the pro models have higher spec for brightness, but without HDR and in sunlight are they "noticeably" brighter than the regular 12 and mini? I also noticed text seems much smaller on the mini compared to the X and im guessing its bc its a lot narrower (I tried the display view zoom and didn't like it).I had to disable 5G cause my battery drained like crazy and im debating whether to exchange for different model. Its weird cause I wanted a smaller phone, but seems not as easy to use in hand like I thought since its so narrow. Maybe its bc im used to 2 hand use or just the phone doesn't sit in hand like the X did and I need to get used to it.

The mini shows exactly the same rendered screen content as the X, just scaled down. So naturally text appears smaller.

Regarding brightness, there are production variances. You may or may not have a subpar model. Personally my mini isn’t too bright either, but I have no other OLED to compare to.

HDR is NOT sunligHT.

Pros will always be much brighter at the same level of brightness slider, provided you’re not playing HDR videos. It doesn’t matter whether you’re inside or outside. The difference is huge.

Can‘t comment on the text thing. But I don’t think there is any scope for a bug there. It’s the way it is.

Using 5G will likely drain 12/Pro too. 12 Pro Max should be better.

Regarding brightness, your Mini is defective. Pls follow the other thread for that.

I’m aware HDR is not sunlight lol. I’m glad for your input on pros being much brighter at same setting. I read and listen to mixed reports as sometimes things are subjective.

This isn’t subjective. 11/12 Pros are 800+ nits. I have personally done this comparison. The difference is pretty significant.
