My mini has a visible flicker when browsing web pages with white backgrounds. You can see the white background flicker red/green slightly. Has anyone else noticed this?
I just upgraded to 14.3, and it does seem to be better. I'll need to use it a bit longer to be sure. I didn't see any mention of this in the bug fix notes for the update. Strange.
Update: I realized that my iPhone is still flickering when I visit MacRumors on it, but it is only when an ad is on the screen. Can someone else with an iPhone 12 test this? If you're reading the MacRumors home page, for example, and an ad shows up on the bottom, my screen starts doing the flicker thing. If I x out of the ad, it stops. And then a new ad pops up shortly and it starts again.
Another addendum -- my screen is definitely flickering with I use the Gmail app on my mini. The white background has a red/green flicker. Would appreciate if anyone else could check this!
Just following up to see if anyone has had this issue. I am still having it on my iPhone mini but it's not entirely consistent. The way I would describe it is: if there's a page with black text on a white background, and there is any kind of video or image on the page at the same time (e.g. looking at a news site) the white parts of the page change color along with the changing images/video. It's as though the color "bleeds" into the white areas of the screen. Is this normal OLED behavior (I've never had an OLED screen before)?
Technically they’re all supposed to flicker and some users such as myself are sensitive to it. However, the flicker you’re describing sounds like a defect.
