I’ve been patiently waiting to the iPhone 12 mini to arrive in the refurbished store for months now. So I did some research to see when new models have been added in the past. History shows that iPhones are generally added to the refurbished store in late January or early February. However, I‘ve just looked at the refurbished store and they’ve added the iPhone 12, 12 Mini, 12 Pro, and 12 Pro Max. Most iPhone models are sold out or only have the 512GB option at ridiculous prices available. Does this mean that Apple ran out of stock of cheaper iPhones but has extra stock of the iPhone 12 lineup? Why did the iPhone 12 lineup get added months early into the refurbished store?

Your guess is as good as mine. The 12 was a new form factor for them so they might have produced more of some configurations.

No, it means that more of the expensive models were returned to Apple. And it does not necessarily mean that those returns were defective in some way. Lots of folks change their mind about a purchase and return it to Apple. Apple can not resell that item as new so it winds up in the on line refurbished store.

Yup, saw that Apple removed the iPhone 12 lineup today. Wonder if the refurbished store was updated by accident and this removal just corrects the error.
Probably because all the refurbished stock of the iPhone 12 were sold out quickly. Hot items in the refurb store go fast.

When an item goes out of stock in the refurb store, they usually just leave the item in the list. They are just disabled and you cannot select them. Look closely at the list. iPhone 8 is out of stock, but it's still on the list.

I think they will eventually put 12's in the refurb store. I gotta think that someone just got ahead of themselves and added them prematurely. That's my guess anyway.
