I'm curious, just what exactly would the iPhone 12 release have to have to make you simply go out, and lay down the cash? (or payment plan). What over your current phone is the deciding factor?

Too bad that apple didnt slim down the bezels to have that 6.7” into the same body

So it needs to have those dimensions to buy it?
No promotion, no slimmer bezels or notch, no redesign ..because you cant call a ironed frame an redesign...less battery since its slimmer..this is an actual iphone Xsss Max with internal upgrades
The star will be that 5.4” that is more compact than the current 4.7” SE
So for people who buys iphones everyyear , still, it doesnt matter..apple can in 2020 just change the colors and call it the 12 and some users still buy it
This year is all about the new apple own chips macs based on that 5nm architecture

Some more attention from Apple in these days of saturations...
Don’t get me wrong for those who are on iphone X, iphone 8 etc and those who likes compact iphones this will be an instant buy
But for the tech guys, like i said, promotion, the same battery as the 11 pro models, slimmer notch and bezels for more display area would be an awesome addition

6.7” - 6.5” (both diagonal) = 0.2” diagonal = 5.08mm (extra screen diagonal)

6.5 iPhone 11 Pro Max -> diagonal: 176,11 mm (phone diagonal)
6.7 iPhone 12 Pro Max -> diagonal: 178,76 mm (phone diagonal)

An extra 5.08mm diagonal screen for a diagonal phone size increase of 2,65mm. Don't think this is possible without slimmer bezels.

Last minute marketing research assignment to finish, eh? 😂

You know what would make me not think twice about buying an SE? If they price the 5.4" at $750.

In order of desirability:

1. If 5.4" is $699 with 128 GB of space = instant buy
2. If 5.4" is $650 with 64GB of space = instant buy

3. If 5.4" is $699 with 64 GB of space = thinking of SE, a little
4. If 5.4" is $750 with 128 GB of space = thinking of SE, a little

5. If 5.4" is $750 with 64GB of space = might possibly get the SE and hope the battery life is sufficient.

All of these scenarios assume that the A14 will have battery life improvements, and the 5.4" has similar battery life to the the 11 or 11 pro.

For me, it will come down to the OLED displays and whether enough has changed to where I’m finally not impacted by PWM. I’m on the 11 and will get a 12 pro model if I can use it. Only decision would be 6.1” vs 6.7”. I’ve always preferred the largest device but now I’m used to this 6.1” size. Assuming of course there are not other differentiators between the pro models.

So far nothing. Its too similar still and won't be a big change. I'd rather wait.

iphone 12 will have so small battery. I don’t believe that it will be so good as 11

I'd like something lighter than my Pro Max. I wouldn't mind going slightly smaller but I doubt the 12 "Pro" at 6.1" will be noticeably lighter than my Max. For my old eyes I think the "Mini" version would be too small. And for me, I prefer the zoom lens, otherwise I'd go 12, not the "Pro" version whatever it'll be called. So I'm on the fence this year...

This is very interesting. 7.4mm thick is excellent in the hand. And if it's true the 6.1 12 & 12 Pro are closer to 5.8 11 Pro than 6.1 iPhone 11 which is good news for maniability !
Screen to body ratio would be excellent despite the notch.

How reliable are those numbers ? What are your sources ? thanks!

Allegedly the phones will have smaller batteries, so, I’m still going to put it on my list for 12 Pro.

120Hz refresh rate
Better battery life
6GB RAM
Improved ultra wide camera

Funny I was just thinking this before. If they would surprise us and at least the Pros have the Touch ID power button, I would be pumping refresh at preorder time

Exactly. I thought the same just looking at the pics. They must have shrunk bezels/notch to have it only be that much longer if those pics are accurate

I had the same observation on the 12 & 12 Pro being closer to the 5.8 inch 11 Pro in size than to the 6.1 inch iPhone 11. If true I find it very interesting as 5.8 iPhone users who thought their model was getting significantly larger and thought they would be forced to downsize to the 5.4" can now get the 6.1" iPhone 12s and have almost the same footprint with a slightly larger screen.
