iPhone 12/Pro Apple silicone case - Plum

Just received this Apple silicone case in plum. I love the deep rich purplish red colour. Should suit the pacific blue of the iPhone 12 Pro quite well.
Some photos in different lighting and of it against my 11PM and forest green leather case for comparison.

Looks pretty good. I’ve gone with the clear case to show off my 12 Pro in Pacific Blue. I may look at a leather case after they come out, and I’m done showing off the phone. Will be interesting to see if the bottom is open, or closed in like the silicon cases. The clear is open.

I think the only reason the clear ones are open is to get the phone in and out without damage to the case as they have less flex than the silicone and leather cases.

I think (hope) the leather will be closed at the bottom.
I also think that the clear case is open because it’s made of hard plastic and there’s almost no flex and it might crack when you put the phone in it.

Edit: arrived! and the good thing, I don't need to unpack it until the iPhone is here. Thanks to this topic 😁

is the silicone on the new case like the material on the old one? or is it a bit slippery or something?

is it heavier because of magsafe?
 
I'm ordering the plum if it comes in leather, if not I'll get a green leather and the plum silicone as an option for a Christmas color (since the new red case doesn't look right to me, and I prefer a darker read).

Any experience with drop resistance of Apple Silicone cases in the past? Does it protect the iPhone well?
 
It looks good. Thanks for posting. This makes me even more annoyed that Apple won't release an iPhone in a deeper purple color. They just keep teasing us with accessories. Maybe next year. :confused:

Want the plum too but worried it will look bad with the Pacific Blue. Anyone has real life pics of plum case/blue phone?
 
Such a shame as I really love this color on my white iPhone 12, but the charging port kept digging into my pinky and was so uncomfortable. Also made the phone a bit heavier too. Returned it and bought a caudabe sheath instead.
