Most of the time I charge it on my MacBook, or in my car on the usb.
I never let it go below 75 % .
I called Apple this afternoon they tested my phone and told me everything is normal , no hardware problem…

You want to try to keep you battery between 20 and 80 percent. The worst thing you can do is keep it at 100% or constantly fully discharge it. Sounds like you kept it near 100% for a long time which probably didn’t help its health.

I use my phone a lot, it’s on Apple car play for around 8 hours a day (driving job) and therefore always on charge.

Launch day iPhone 12 mini and it’s still at 100%. Also charged overnight. Done the same thing for every iPhone I’ve ever owned, and my original SE is still at 90% battery and that was a launch day device as well.

Simply don’t use fast chargers or anything that generates heat, that’s what will lower your battery health quicker.

Having your phone constantly charging isn’t necessarily bad, otherwise CarPlay would have more complaints.

Yes that's exactly my case , I'm a taxi driver and my phone is plugged all day long every days on my car for CarPlay.
I did the same thing exactly with my 11 pro max , XSmax , X and so on , and the battery health on these phones were still at 100% or maybe 99% after a year.
With the 12 pro it is already at 90% after 5 months there definitely something wrong , but what can I do ion Apple tells me "every thing is ok"?

I've had my 12 Pro for almost 6 months and it's at 94% health.

I've decided not to worry about it. I have AppleCare+ and if it hits 80% while I still own it, I'll just have the battery replaced.

I still need to charge it only once a day, at bedtime.

I had the iPhone 12 Pro since launch. Recently I experienced a big drop in my battery usage for the day. I am a light user, no videos and such. I found by noon time I was at 50%. Sometimes it would suddenly drop by 20% and it was just sitting next to me. Apple said battery was fine but I sent it in for a new battery replacement at my cost. When I got it back I tried again with the same results. I then erased the phone and started from scratch again without using my backup. Just installing what I absolutely needed. Nothing helped. I then went to the Apple Store and bought a brand new iPhone 12 Pro identical the to one I have. Installed from back up and everything was fine. I was able to go 24 hours and still have 60% battery life. No idea what was going on.

never experienced anything like this before but my capacity is at 94% on my iPhone 12 Pro Max. Battery life sucks, my phone gets hot when doing simple tastes like texting - having the brightness at around 50% with auto brightness off. Every week since the last 3 weeks I’ve been losing a percent. Is this normal ?
I have AppleCare and I will take the phone into a store.
Coconut battery is telling me my cycle count is 120 cycles.
12/PRO and battery life sucks as well plus my phone is always hot even if I am on a call using my AirPods and the screen is off!?

Which is more accurate: coconutBattery or the iOS Battery Health Tool?

it’s time to make a Genius Bar appointment and get that phone replace

Another % gone yesterday now it is 89% battery health…crazy
I gave Apple another call , the guy told me there was clearly a problem , as the 89% should appear after like 300 cycles , and I’ve done only 125.
The only solution he gave me is to wait that the iPhone tells me to replace the battery , otherwise Apple would charge me to do so….great !
« be patient , it should happen in a couple of weeks or months »
I mean WTF? Isn’t Apple supposed to be one of the best customers service in the world?

So what does that mean? Free replacement whenever you see fit? It’s a threshold of 80% before they consider this eligible for their warranty. At that point they will offer the warranty service, not when someone demands it.

Yes but c’mon this iPhone is 5 months old and I can barely finish a day without plugging it….so I’ll have to wait to have to recharge it twice a day, after what 7months , to get it replaced? A 1150€ iPhone ?

Yup that sucks but that’s just the rules they put into place. I’m not sure how to better your situation but if you cannot get through the day and need to constantly recharge it it’s worth documenting it in great detail and approach apple with that. Hope that they help you sooner or later.

My launch day 12 Pro is at 90% and losing a percentage point a week at the moment, if you trust the battery health indicator. It's rarely at less than 50% charged, I'm pretty easy on it.

Actual battery life through the day is totally fine however, with Applecare+ I'll just get it replaced when it hits 80.

It does make me think they're using super cheap batteries this time around, since battery health was introduced I've never had one degrade this quickly.

Same here..

I think there is a batch of lemon batteries used in the 12 Pro this time around...

Now, because of how Apple set up the rules, we have to wait until 80% health before it does anything about it? I can see once the phone hits the upper to mid 80s having to charge it more than once a day and that will be a pain. This isn't what you expect from a $1000+ device.

Yeah , this is really disappointing to say the least.
When I called this morning , the guy told me my battery was faulty without any doubt but I have to wait for the message from the iPhone before they'll do anything.
So please stay with this faulty iPhone for weeks or even months before we replace your battery , only when it won't be usable anymore without plugging it several times a day . Thanks Apple.

When I got the 12/pro, I can barely finish a day without plugging it from day one!
Does coconut battery report the same battery health as your IOS?
