All these threads about the 12 having bad battery life, while my 12 Pro seems significantly better than my 11 Pro :D

I know, it’s just been 1,5 day with this device. But yesterday, after transferring all my data for almost 2 hours from the 11 Pro (over 200GB) I noticed that I had so much battery left. It surprised me as I didn’t connect it to a charger during the process. Also using it all day (it being a new device and all), the battery percentage went down real slowly and still had some left at 1 in the night when I went to bed.

Today is my first full day with the device and I’m using it exactly as how I would the 11 Pro and as of this writing I’m at 56%. On the 11 Pro I would be well below 50% with this usage. Fun fact, even though I’m on WiFi at home, the phone network is connected to 5G all the time.

So, this is my anecdotal praise of the first days with the 12 Pro. I hope others are enjoying it too. The new design and the 0.3” increase in screen size make it feel like a completely different device to the X, XS and 11 Pro.

Thanks for sharing! A few questions if you don’t mind:

1) What’s your carrier (and how many bars of signal strength do you have at home?)
2) Do you have Wi-Fi calling enabled?
3) what third party apps do you have installed (unless there’s too many to list)?
4) Can you attach a screenshot of your battery usage so we could compare ours?

iPhone 12 Pro

After a day of indexing and a full charge... I got 2 full days of use out of the battery. Moderate use. Nothing too crazy or video. But just my normal everyday use. I'm satisfied with that. Left me with 10% battery after 2 days. Wi-Fi on with AT&T 5G service.

1. It's Vodafone NL with about 1 to 3 bars of 5G signal at home
2. Yes, Wifi calling is enabled
3. Here you can see some of the apps I have (the folders are multi page):

4. I've reposted the image above from the iOS14 show your homescreen thread. I will take a screenshot from my battery later.

I can say that I take it off the charger at around 9:30 in the morning, keep using the phone the entire day, go to bed, wake up, use the phone and just make it before bed time on the second day and then connect it to the charger.

Like yesterday morning I took it off the charger at 9:50, used it at home mostly, I was outside for 2 hours on 5G, back home, used it all night, went to bed with about 60% left, woke up today and took photos and videos for my wife's birthday, etc. I'm at 31% at 15:10 on the second day.
With the 11 Pro it was almost the same (bit worse) when I just got it, but much worse after a year. A week ago I would always end day 1 with around 30% battery life.

I have a theory that the mmWave American iPhones might have worse battery life. But that's based on nothing, but it could explain why some reviewers (mostly Americans) get not so great battery life.

Battery life on the 12 pro is great. Going to bed with over 50% charge most days. Could probably squeeze out 2 days if I needed to.

Yeah I get the feeling that especially the standby time is much improved over the previous 11 Pro.

So I took it off the charger on Tuesday at 9:50 and took this screenshot on Wednesday at 21:50 with 4% battery left. The screen on time is only of the last 24 hours and not counting the rest of the usage before that. So I would say it’s between 7 and 8 hours total. All in all pretty good if you ask me.
