So, it’s been a few months since the iPhone 12 Pro Max was released. The big question was, as usual, which color looks the best? Naturally there was a lot of hype around the new color, the pacific blue. I went for the “true and tried” dark color at launch (this year known as “graphite”), as it matches my Apple Watch, iPad and MacBook and it goes with most cases and it has a classic, timeless look.
This weekend, I was gifted an iPhone 12 Pro Max in the color pacific blue. And I must admit, it looks stunning! Quite muted and natural, but a bit more “colorful” than my usual grayish phones (have had black/ jet black/ space gray/ graphite ever since the iPhone 4S).
It looks great naked and also goes very well with my Baltic blue and California Poppy cases. I must admit it was “love at first sight”.
What is your opinion on these two colors after they’ve been out a few months?
Most of the reviews out there are from around the time of the launch, and of course the “new color” got a lot of praise. But how do you feel about these two colors after a few months?
I see no reason to keep two phones, so I will be selling one of them. But, I must admit that choosing which one is really hard - even now that I have both here at home and can compare them side by side. Am I just blinded by the “newness” of the blue one, or is it simply just a beautiful color? The graphite still looks classy, but after literally years of grayish phones, it almost looks boring.
Which color did you end up buying, what do you like about it and would you have picked a different color if you could choose over again?
I know that this comes down to personal preferences, and that I have to make up my own mind, but sometimes it helps to hear the opinion of others.
So, what do you think? Should I keep the true and tried classic or hope that the “love at first sight” with the Baltic blue turns into “true love”?

I choose blue as got bored of space grey. It’s a known colour so I decided to go all blue

Pacific blue 12 pro max
Blue series 6
Skinned my M1 air navy blue
Navy blue silicone case and same for my iPad Pro
Navy case for my air pods pro as well

This year went with Blue because Blue is my #1 favorite color. So I went with Pacific Blue for the 12 Pro max hands down. While I do like the Space Gray/Graphite, but they are classy and is a boring color for me.

I considered graphite for a long time. In the end I went with gold because my Apple Watch is gold and even if I upgrade to the series 6 I wouldn’t get a space grey. It was a hard decision for me though as my MacBook and iPad Pro are space grey and my Apple Watch and iPad mini are gold.

I am more than happy with my graphite grey 12 Pro Max. I don’t really see the colour a big issue, as you spend most of your time looking at the front screen.

Which to keep is purely personal preference if they are the same otherwise (however more storage in one would be a clincher).

I would get sick of the blue, or any color option after a while once the novelty wears off. I would take graphite personally. Graphite goes better with cases also.

You could say you’re feeling a little blue as of late. 😂

Also rocking the series 6 AW navy blue and 12 pro max pacific blue, no regrets loving the big boy in that sexy pacific blue color.

I am so in love with my PB which I own since before Xmas, that it's the first time I've been using clear cases, in order to admire its color every day!
I was a Space Gray fan for all these years, but no more!

It's such a subtle and muted blue, looks almost gray sometimes, so I don't think I will ever get bored of it.

I really wish they continue releasing muted versions of blue/green every year for the Pro models.
Not a fan of warm colors on devices.

12 pro max in graphite reporting here. I love the pacific blue also but ultimately only you can answer that question. Either way you will have a gorgeous phone.

I think you will ultimately need to make the choice. You are the one using it and will have to live with your choice. Everyone else will pick the color they like. I personally like the blue but went with graphite as I prefer a more neutral color.

I love my Pacific Blue. I've had it in a saddle brown leather case since launch but recently started just using it without a case (but still have a glass screen protector on). It's so beautiful. I'm sure it's going to get a little scuffed up being out of the leather case -- so I'm mostly just rocking caseless at home, but it's such a pretty color.

If it gets too scuffed, or I have to travel, I'll pop it back in the case though. So while the color is nice, it doesn't matter too much unless you're going caseless I think.
