So , today I went to Apple Store early morning to pick up my Pro Max ! Here is the experience , maybe you will find some answer you need !! This is for Apple Store with Express pick-up
1 - iPhone 12 Pro Max shipped with iOS 14.1 , not 14.2
2 - On the express pick up , they will do return , not an exchange . I pre order my promax and come to pick up , and want to exchange 12 Pro to another Pro Max , they said they cant do this , only way is place an order online and then come to pick up , not for an exchange . I did asked them the reason and they said store policy , even the Apple said I have 14 days for refund / exchange , they said they have no stock for that .
3 - I picked up my Pro Max , and return my 12 Pro , and they did that very easy , but not for exchange from 12 Pro to Pro Max due to stock . I showed them they have stock , they still want to placed an order and pick the time slot online to pick-up ! Apple so weird this year , make everything so complicated .
4 - If you want do a trade in when you pick up , they wont do it in-store ( express pick up only store ) , they will give you a QR CODE to scan and ship the trade-in device back to Apple , again , not at express store!
5 - iPhone Pro Max have plenty of stock at Apple Store as of now , available for pick up same day on Verizon / AT&T / Sprint model , if you paid full price , they will exactly same with SIM-FREE version
