Anyone still having the oled black issue with the iPhone 13? Haven’t seen it discussed anywhere yet.

Good to hear! I returned my 12 last year over the display issues. Optimistic about this year.

Here
Once I saw this thread last year I realize that my iPhone 12 Pro had a very slight issue with this. I could only notice it in a dark room, but it definitely wasn't "true black." My iPhone 13 Pro does not have this issue.

EDIT: Also, I don't use True Tone, but my 13 has a slightly cooler display than my 12.

All good here as well, but my 13 pro max isn’t 200 nits brighter than a 12 pro max, it’s actually dimmer. ?‍♂️

I have also noticed my screen appears to be dimmer when put side by side to my 12 Pro for the same brightness setting.

I did see a review where the extra 200 nits only comes in auto-brightness mode. I haven’t measured but if true is frustrating. I’ve always disliked that limitation as I don’t use auto brightness.

Guess it’s luck of the draw with which panel you get, in tech chap video, his 13 pro max is clearer brighter than the 12 pro max.

I also don’t use auto brightness.

Well, I decided to go out and pick up an iPhone 13 mini today and I too am happy to report that it has an absolutely gorgeous display. No glowing blacks, no green tint, and no ugly yellow cast like the 12 that I returned last year.

Turns out it really must have been a hardware issue after all ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

My 13 Pro died during an update. Apple replaced it and the new phone has a better screen. Definitely brighter and matches the other 13 Pros screen that’s in the house.

Was the raised blacks ever fixed on the 12 (pro) series?
It was so insignificant I never noticed it after a month or two. Whether that’s because they fixed it or not I’m not sure. I’ll check when I’m in a dark room and let you know.

My iPhone 12 Pro had this issue, but it was not critical. When I played black screen video on YouTube my phone rarely showed me grey flashes (like for example if you play black screen video on iPhone 11 LCD screen, check right phone on the picture, this is what I'm talking about). Those grey flashes appeared only when I played full black tint video. If I played video with some actions or on black screen (check another screenshot with the cup) I had no raised blacks at all. And my phone never had green tint issue at all. Now my wife uses this iPhone 12 Pro, iOS 15.0. And I played pure black video on YouTube – no issued at all, pure black screen, no flashes, no grey tint. So I think it is really fixed, at least on my phone
