So I received my iPhone 12 Pro Max yesterday and have been comparing it to the iPhone 12 Pro I got over a week ago.

The screen on the Pro Max is brighter when comparing side to side to the Pro on the Home Screen as well as when using YouTube etc., however I’ve noticed when watching video in certain apps that they appear darker and harder to see on the Pro Max than the Pro?

Both are set at max brightness and with True Tone etc. off.

It’s really off putting and I can’t work out why they are so different.

The first picture is of the 12 Pro and the second is of the 12 Pro Max.

Just to add although the brightness seems adequate on the Pro Max (the one on the right), it’s even darker with the naked eye compared to what the photo has captured.

No one else noticed this when comparing a Pro and Pro Max?

I don’t seem to notice a difference when streaming content from Netflix, only Disney plus

hmmm ill have to look i have both phones... if anything i have been noticing how much better the screen looks on the pro max, every time its simply, hard to put down, even though, the voices in my practical head say "keep the smaller phone" lol... photos are for sure better on the Pro Max, I shot a lot outside yesterday, the saturation, depth of field, lighting, everything seems better on the PM

It’s weird because it only seems to be certain videos like Mandalorian on Disney + and Ted Lasso on Apple TV. Every other movie on Disney + like Avengers looks the same as on the Pro and all the Netflix content looks the same on both as well. The screen is definitely brighter for me on the Pro Max which is why I don’t understand why the Mandalorian episode is so dark and difficult to view even in max brighteness.

Hmm strange. Maybe it’s the film? Ted Laso doesn’t look bad on the PM to me.
