iPhone 12 Pro iPhone 12 Pro won't measure person's height

Has anyone experienced issues using their iPhone 12 Pro to measure a person’s height? My wife’s 12 Pro Max just keeps switching back and forth between saying “move closer” and “move farther away” and never will give a measurement. My 12 Pro works perfectly.

I have the same issue. Apparently if you reset all settings on the iPhone it fixes it. I haven’t done because I can’t be bothered RE doing all my settings. But if you do it please share if it worked or not.

A friend of mine has tried initialization and iOS upgrade (14.1 to 14.2) but it hasn't solved the problem.
Particularly unfortunate, he's encountered the same symptoms even after changing models. (12Pro to 12Pro Max)
