Just wondering if anyone has upgraded to iOS 16 on the iPhone 13 mini?

If so, how is the battery life?

My gut feeling tells me that the answer would be AWFUL šŸ˜¢

It it fine. Maybe a 10-15% hit for the same amount of usage time.

***note: I use Wi-Fi only all the time with Wi-Fi calling on, and Apple Watch connected. Iā€™ll post a fourth photo of usage on cell service in a moment. Itā€™s not good, but the battery usage on cell has always been bad on this 13 mini. ***

Usage time of 4hrs on iOS 15 vs iOS 16 in first two photos

This third photo is when I used 100% of the battery

Same here, I donā€™t use mobile internet, only WiFi. I only use my phone if I need to call or email or text someone. I hardly use any 3rd party apps, only the native stock apps.

For this reason, my battery life on my current iOS 15.7 usually lasts up to 1.5 or even 2 days at most.

Any additional inputs for the battery life of the 13 mini on iOS 16 vs. 15.7? Still hesitant to upgrade, everything works fine on my device.

Itā€™s quite freeing to not worry about battery life anymore, but if everything works and you have all the security releases with 15.7 then just stay there. If thereā€™s no features you need on 16 then just stay put.

You canā€™t go back if you upgrade, so doing nothing is just fine.

If battery life is a concern at the moment, then a 6.1ā€ 14 or 15 is in your future. I have a 6.1ā€ device and itā€™s nice to not always being concerned with battery life.

But I was certainly fine with the battery life on the 13mini on 16, so consider just upgrading and not worrying about it anymore :)

Funnily enough, itā€™s the opposite: since downgrading isnā€™t allowed, if updating brings about a battery life decrease significant enough to impact the user, they will have to worry for the deviceā€™s entire lifespan, and thereā€™s nothing they can do.

If you donā€™t want to worry, donā€™t update, ever.

Stay on 15.7. My 13mini has been terrible on all versions of 16, hopefully 17 will be the maintenance/optimisation heavy update as rumoured.
