Many ppl rocking their phones naked?
I bet Apple engineers in the safety of their laboratories with replacements nearby do. And Marketing folk in their carpeted offices do. Customers in real life tricked into rocking their phones naked by Apple’s marketing, commercials, and jewelry-like designs are like motorcycle riders. It’s not a matter of if but when… it really is quite the paradox that the one thing we carry around as much as our thoughts (and pro to being dropped regularly, like our thoughts) is designed so poorly for long-term durability unless all the jewelry is covered by a case!

You have a choice which is a sleek and beautiful design that is prone to scuffs, scratches and dinks, or you can have a more robust device which resembles something like a tough phone. I like the iPhones as they are are built with glossy and shiny materials which are fragile. The device itself is not fragile though so feel free to use a naked iPhone and expect it to survive multiple drops onto hard surfaces as the components are well protected. It is just that the sleek surfaces will become scuffed and paint chips will appear.

That’s why I always use a case and screen protector.

Looking at my Midnight 13 mini, wished I had waited for 6 more months before upgrading lol
That green looks very sexy!

Still think Pacific Blue wins as best color.

The video posted is legit. But the photo posted 100 percent looks photo shopped.

You know it's funny...years ago green was my favorite color: green closer to olive green than to teal. This iPhone would have had me very excited! But somewhere along the way, my tastes changed to where now blue is my favorite. I love this green, it's really awesome, but I'm happy with my (Pacific?) Blue mini. Of course it's in a case, but that is also blue leather, lol. But with these modern iPhones the color is still showing on the camera panel.

If Apple made a bulked up plastic and rubber phone, that was resistant to breaking, but had the same specs, no one would buy it. Even though people voluntarily do precisely that as soon as they get their phones in-hand.

Nix the “bulked up” diversionary talk. If you on your own don’t think Apple’s “genius” designers could design and add to the line-up something slightly less genteel but much more scuff/repeated-drop friendly than their Swarovski iPhones that would look GREAT while not needing to be covered up, then you’re thinking too small.

I'm sure they could, for a price. They could make a phone completely out of tungsten and sapphire. And it would cost $2500, and you'd be compelled to put it in a case because of its price, and wanting to keep it pristine.

Or for this coming year, they could add an iPhone 14C, which could be "unapologetically concrete", dramatically improving its durability.

But frankly, I don't see what's wrong with the rubber/plastic approach. If customers are willing to do it to their own phones, and they think the cases look good, then it shouldn't be an issue. If Apple made an iPhone like that, you could save money on a case. Spigen and OtterBox won't be happy though...

Enough with the nonsense red herring “examples,” I’m out, you’re right about whatever you say. :)
