Why is every YouTube/Influencer (or whatever you want to call it) actually claiming the price to be the same?

In Europe iPhone13 starts today at 899€ vs iPhone12 799€. According to MacRumors.com iPhone12 started even at retail 649$ in 2020? (iPhone 12: Should You Buy? Reviews, Everything We Knowhttps://www.macrumors.com › roundup › iphone-12)

iPhone 12 64GB started at 876€ in 2020. iPhone11 started at 799€ in 2019 sells today for 579€.
All retail prices AppleStore give or take a few Euros because of fees, taxes etc.

However compared to recent years base prices actually increased across the product line in Europe. You are welcome to correct the prices I found if you have another valid source, but so far the claim "prices stayed the same" can be questioned.

Being overpriced has nothing to do with how much the company spent on the product.
And BTW, these are estimate build cost upon an earlier estimation from techinsights, presented here as exact numbers.. could be far from the true figures.

Wow thanks Apple, you truly are generous. Anyway I need to get back to figuring how to juggle my fast charging brick that came with my iPhone 11 Pro between my new iPhone 13 Pro and my new MagSafe charger and my wife's iPhone 13. Apparently we have them lying around everywhere see.

No worries, Apple should be able to handle it, as they are no longer including EarPods and power adapters with their iPhones, each of the two selling for 19$. 🖐

The price in the U.K. for the 13 Pro and Pro Max start from £50 LESS then the 12 Pro and Max did, I'm frankly stunned Apple did this and they haven't done the usual 1$ to £1 direct conversion.

No way this is accurate.

Labour & electricity costs have increased significantly in China and Vietnam…
Transportation costs have also gone up.…
There is also a massive shortage for high-end silicon which has led to higher chip prices…

I’m sure Apple achieved some manufacturing efficiencies, but they would be marginal in comparison to the above.

Even assuming these cost calculations are correct, extracting profit margins just by comparing to the base iPhone price is deceiving. Apple (as well as most other companies) relies a lot on higher specced configurations, which are massively overpriced compared to actual component costs. Apple is offering 256, 512 and 1T storage configurations that only slightly increase building costs while increasing profit margins tremendously.
