It doesn't seem to look nice. Hopefully, it will be fixed in the next iOS update. Let's hope for the best.
Downgrading to 15.0.1 and wiping out the phone, starting over did not solve the issue.
Battery showed 97%, restarting the phone (TRYING to get Verizon to work again..whole other mess) - battery now shows 93%

So whatever bug got in here, it remains. Yeah..hoping an update comes quick! 😠
Deflating!

Yes, it's pretty strange. I have rebooted my phone now, had 53% battery and now it shows 55%. I didn't expect that. Coconut Battery shows 54%.

I've been running a jet black background on Safari for 1 hr, leaving the phone idle.
Dropped 2%, so ...um, progress I guess? Beats me.

It's a very frustrating glitch, bug, whatever this is.

The only "positive" thing about this is we are many having the same issue so its "normal" at this point and if there's really something wrong about the battery itself we'll certainly know it in the coming month or so.

Yes. I have also done some tests using YouTube and Netflix for one hour (dropped on average with 8%).
I was running live Fios TV earlier for almost 2 hours on mute.
Was showing 72%, after a restart it now shows 66%. at 9:31pm. (just odd!)

Some photos, very little video. Been leaving it off the charger.

*Running on 15.0.1, I'll wait until the next update and whew..maybe this will get fixed?? We'll see.

The problem is, this became "normal" (according to Apple) with the 12 Pro Max, 12's. 2 months in, battery health dropped into the upper 90s, all downhill fast from there.

The daily drain became pretty miserable. So, trading that in...and I was thrilled to see this 13 PM with the 104% health.

Didn't last long after this 15.0.2 update, health on Coconut is "95%" (yet phone shows 100%)
No idea what to think about that though, the numbers, % are completely goofy - on my end - right now w/ this phone.

Just hoping I don't have a repeat of my 12PM experience come mid Nov, Dec.

There's still a very active thread about the 12 Pro Max battery drain/health. It LOOKED like my 12 Pro Max would drop below 80% by the end of this month, my health % drastically slowed down around 86, 85%, it didn't appear it would drop below 80% to get the repalcement (dumb rule!) Others are seeing that slow down now.

I see. I hope I won't have this issue then. The only issue I have so far is the 4-7% drop when I reboot and coconut battery always showing 5% less than the actual battery % shown on my phone. I have my phone since october 6 and according to coconut, my battery health is 102.7% after 3 cycles. 95% health after less than a month is ridiculous. My XS max have this % health after 3 years...

Really hope I don't have a defect battery as well. Got one with my old 6s+ and Apple never wanted to replace my battery with Apple Care. I still can return my phone before next Wednesday, but for now the actual screen time seems good so I don't know what to do.

It's a hard decision, especially when a replacement MIGHT take a very long time with limited stock in many areas. But this all may be fixed with the next update (Kinda hope 15.1 comes out on 10/18 after Apple Event. Maybe it will be released NEXT Friday?) Its a guessing game right now.

But I will wait at least a day or 2 before updating to that anyway, see if any more issues appear. 🙄

Hopefully the issue will be fixed in the new iOS update 15.1, because I also have an iPhone XS, which doesn’t have this issue when I reboot it.

Wow! I'm pretty surprised as well. just rebooted at 88% on iOS 15.1 with my 13 pro max and it was at the same % after the reboot! Very impressed by Apple. They usually take way longer to fix bugs like this.

Yup. It’s fixed for me as well now.

What I noticed instead is that the battery doesn't last as much as in the previous update, iOS 15.0.2. Does someone else noticed this issue as well?

I haven't updated yet, but usually after a major update the battery takes a hit. Phone indexing the update. Give it a day and see what happens.

Glad the odd % drop after rebooting appears fixed. My battery health "fixed" itself and reads 103-104 again in Coconut. (Odd ??‍♂️). I'm in no rush to update just yet.
