Exactly! It looks sort of like if the metal wasn’t pushed down hard enough on the earpiece. My gap runs the length of the earpiece though, even slightly past it on both sides, so I can see that grey line/metal on both sides.omg I literally just showed my girlfriend this. I have a gap right above the ear piece on the top right. I can see a thin grey line. you too?
mine runs about 30% of the ear piece. I have no idea what im going to do. it is very noticeable thoughExactly! It looks sort of like if the metal wasn’t pushed down hard enough on the earpiece. My gap runs the length of the earpiece though.
I’m not bothered unless it’s a liquid ingress weak point. I’m not really sure, though. I wonder if any of the teardowns show anything in that area…mine runs about 30% of the ear piece. I have no idea what im going to do. it is very noticeable though
Got a link? I have 4x iPhone 13 Pro Max here with me, and only one has this slight gap…This was mentioned in another thread. Completely normal.
the fact that 3 of the 4 dont have it, Im going with its not normal. Its prob a cosmetic flaw but for the price I paid (1199$ plus tax) Im not settling for itGot a link? I have 4x iPhone 13 Pro Max here with me, and only one has this slight gap…
If it’s cosmetic it doesn’t bother me. If it’s more than that it does. No way of knowing right now, it seems…the fact that 3 of the 4 dont have it, Im going with its not normal. Its prob a cosmetic flaw but for the price I paid (1199$ plus tax) Im not settling for it

Above the speaker. There’s a gap between the speaker and the metal band.Thats is the where the ear piece hs been moved this year. That allowed for a smaller notch.
Post a picture. I don't see a gap in the frame on my 13 Pro Max.Above the speaker. There’s a gap between the speaker and the metal band.
Yours looks normal. The gap was the first thing I noticed when I first opened my phone.I don’t have a gap on my 13 Pro. I‘ll check my wife’s tomorrow, but I would consider a gap to be a defect. Here’s a picture of my top earpiece and frame:
I would definitely exchange it.Yours looks normal. The gap was the first thing I noticed when I first opened my phone.
Yeah I expect some are worse than others but all are likely “within spec.”@ OP
exchanged mine for a new retail unit in Hawaii. First one delivered to California. Same gap. Same spot. Display phones had it too. Not worth exchanging since others have it imo
