Hi,
I have iPhone 13 pro max 3 weeks and recently the left side is super hot (near the volume buttons) why and how can I fix it?

Thanks!

What are you doing while it’s hot? I’ve noticed mine gets warm when I’m on this website.

Exact same thing, mostly when im on this website. If i use Tapatalk no warming.

I don't use Adblock do you think the ad make iPhone hot?
Yes
Check out this thread below started in July. 13 pages of it.
The main topic is excessive battery drain caused by ads in webpages but anything that causes the battery to drain quickly is using a lot of power - which creates excessive heat too.

Ok I will try it, is it safe?

Did you guys turn on the privacy?

I have been using AdBlock Pro, the free version. My 13 Pro Max never even gets warm surfing websites, including this website.

Since you installed the adblocker or also without adblocker?

Honestly I installed the ad blocker to get rid of ads from websites like YouTube and this website. I have always used an ad blocker and install one by default.

I was getting the heat in the same area on two different iPhone 13 pro max . with my current one ( replaced due to screen issue ) I pinpointed the heat generated when using safari and browsing Amazon Smile. My thread about that is under the forum iphone help and support subsection. I believe it’s been resolved now.

This is a common situation on all 11-12-13 machines, when using any browser. (when it's not hot, it may be due to the ios code with some ads on the conflicting page causing the CPU to increase)
Fix:
- When it's hot, get out and back in
- Surfing the web, always touching the back, if it's hot, get out immediately.
- Use Tapatalk to replace the browser when entering the forum.

I was enjoying your response until you mentioned TapaTalk 🤣

Your heat issue has been resolved by turning off iCloud for Safari? Are you using an ad blocker right now?
I did a few things. Cleared history and website data within Safari settings and also ceased using iCloud for Safari. Using AdGuard general option only.

All seems good now. I first disabled iCloud and cleared website date. Used it like this for a few days and then installed AdGuard. So far so good.

I have not had iCloud for Safari enabled. Maybe I will try and enable it and see what happens. Heck I am a pro now at doing Rrcovery Mode, I have done it 3 times already since owning the phone. The first 2 times was related to an issue I was having with Music auto playing when I connected to CarPlay. The second Recovery Mode resolved that issue. The third time was to resolve the Music app running in the background for a few minutes multiple times a day, I had that CarPlay issue happening to me since iOS 12. That one was driving batty not knowing how to resolve it. Seems all good now.

He said batty 🤣👍🏼 Made me chuckle, I ain’t heard that in years. I thought you said you didn’t have heating problems ?
How does recovery mode work in relation to data stored restoring data once device is completely wiped clean ? I’m assuming that’s what the DFU is ? I’ve never done that before. But then again prior to the iPhone 12 PM and this IPhone 13 PM my last encounter with iPhones was the 4s years ago.

I don’t have a heating issue. I have had my share of issues with iOS 15, able to overcome them all so far. Now that I think about it I did do one DFU. I think something gets corrupted, maybe a plist file and restoring the OS is the best way to resolve the issue. The good news I found is that doing something like a DFU or Recovery Mode is fairly quick to do.
