Hi Everyone!

Just wanted to ask,

Has anyone done a test for battery life on the new Pro’s when having ProMotion on versus off?

I can’t seem to find one online or YT.

ProMotion Off means 60Hz.

ProMotion On does mean 120Hz, but since it’s adaptive and can go below 60Hz, this could mean overall, it can have better battery, however, how often it goes below 60 & above 60 is the question.

I would be interested to know which setting allows for maximum battery.

The screen will still go down to 10hz when it needs. So you’d be saving even more battery. You can do that in settings>accessibility>motion>Limit frame rate.

I can’t tell a difference but I don’t game a lot - I read a lot which means that my guess is the phone is doing the 10hz more often than not. I can go 2+ days and barely use 50% battery. Unless you’re actively viewing content that utilizes the 120hz I don’t think you’re going to notice much of a difference.

My battery is significantly better when "limit frame rate" is turned on. Kind of sucks because now I have to choose between amazing battery life and a silky smooth display.
