I've been a caseless user for 3 generations now.

11 Pro - minimal screen scratching

12 Pro - minimal screen scratching

13 Pro - major screen scratching!!

Is anyone else experiencing this? It's almost like the coating is less effective than previous gens. My habits haven't changed and I take great care of my phones. I don't get it. Is this warranty worthy?

If I rememebred this right from last year, all phones except that golden one could get a scratch (12 Pro/12 Pro Max). The worst one was silver who didn't had any protection at all, that means the "PVD-coating".

Luckily today now you can buy Apple's MagSafe Silicon case where it's inner section is coated with microfiber so ALL dirt and dust will be on the bottom. Think as a "brush".

If I'll go today for a silver? Nope.

My 11 Pro Max screen scratched if I breathed in its general direction. It was the first iPhone in years that I had a screen protector on. It was terrible.

My 13 Pro has been cased and caseless at varying times since launch, and never a screen protector. Doesn’t have a mark on it, and I throw it in my purse, my pocket…much improved over the 11PM.

The fact that my launch day 11PM had gouges out of the screen out of the box (leading to me sending it back the same day and waiting another month for my launch day pre-ordered phone - not impressed) should have been my warning. I’ve never had a screen that scratched like that since my BB Curve - and that was like plastic.
