Apologies if this has been discussed already but does anyones 13 Pro seem to get hot on the back after a while? Seems like that’s leading to faster battery drain, too. I’m not in a hot room or anything…not sure if it’s the case? I have a Spigen Liquid Air Armor case.

Maybe I should try a erase and restore from iCloud backup...

My iPhone 13 Pro is getting really hot on the back as well. Not really doing any tasks out of the ordinary and it will just got very hot very quickly.

My 13 Pro is running hot from the Apple logo to just below the camera. Its so warm i can feel it through the Apple silicone case. And if i take the case off and press my hand against the back its very hot. That cant be normal.

I have a 13 PM 1 tb. Battery life is good, at least 24 hours with normal usage.
My problem is that the phone gets really hot at times. For instance, when using Skype about ten minutes into the video call, the back of the phone got quite hot. Earlier today, on a FaceTime video call, 10-15 minutes into the call the video was gone and I had an exclamation mark in the center of the screen.
Is this a software issue or better return the phone?
Most of you who posted here have had some time to determine what is going on by now. Is it a reason to worry about?

Same back temperature summary for my Gold 512GiB iPhone 13 Pro. Apple logo to below the camera notch runs warm enough to feel through my Mous Limitless 4.0 leather case and clear TPU case. No intensive CPU usage with regular use the warmth persists. Of course without case it’s noticeably warm in the area too. The front touch display is always cool to the touch.

Anandtech mentioned that the thermal design on the iphone 13 pro models are not so good based on where they placed all the new parts. Literally, it will throttle the processor more based on the inner design alone. Get use to the heat while doing certain tasks for now with pro models. In the long run, this won't be so great but those efficiency cores could save the device and control some heat hopefully for pro users if they are used more like it seems. But overall lifespan this time around won't be as good due to a bad thermal system.

Thanks

True this high quality teardown video reveals the baseband stacked on the CPU which is bad for thermals. At least we know what to expect. Hope the YouTube embed worked here
