I am interested in knowing how many people are looking forward to ProRes. Is it enough to upgrade to higher storage? I believe (one minute) of 4k ProRes video eats up 6GB of storage. That is a significant amount. I myself will not be using this feature, so I will be sticking with the 128GB, which is more than enough storage for myself.

I personally believe this is something that is much more suitable on a laptop, plus transferring these large files through a lightning contact rather than USB-C will take forever.

I like the thought of having this feature at your fingertips at all times, but without significant storage, or a micro SD card, it will just eat up your storage in no time if you plan on using it regularly.

From what I understood watching MacBreak Weekly, the videos will take up 1gb per minute of recorded video in 1080p and 6gb for 4K version of that ProRes. That size is considerable for anyone trying to do any serious work with it, and will be a chore to export due to the dated IO speeds of the lightning connector.

It’s amazing how much Apple touted USB-C on the new iPad mini at the event. One of the things they highlighted was the fast transfer speeds and then they introduced ProRes for iPhones without USB-C

I like to be able to use ProRes. I shoot photos in RAW, and love the flexibility in post processing. But at the crazy bit rate, it simply just wouldn't be viable for my use case (traveling).
