Hi dear Apple community!
After long (more than) 10 years I bought myself a new iPhone 13. My past iPhone was iPhone 4 and in that time we had to do some things before using the smartphone such as; It should be pluged on and the battery should be fully charged and than we would turn the device on.
So my question is - how should I treat my new phone now.
Should I charge It first?
Is there a procedure how to use It nowdays?
Best regards!

You will get a lot of different views on best charging practices. Just use but don’t let the battery deplete below 10%. Try optimized battery charging and see how that works for you. Personally, I would not do fast charging. People also have reported that MagSafe charging tends to heat up the phone which may shorten the battery life of the phone.

Don’t leave it plugged into power continuously. Battery is happier if it’s not at 100% all the time.

Purpose of my question was related for getting the advice on first use of the phone..so guys what you think should I turn It on or should I first charge the battery till 100 percent and than to turn the phone on?

Turn it on and the battery should be at around 80%. Just use it normally. I’d start charging when it hits around 40% and stop at 80% :)

Don’t need to do that “charge to full 100% before first time” use anymore. I think that practice is now outdated.

Turn it on and see where the battery level is. If it's low charge it. It really is up to you.

I'm curious why you would stop at 80%?

Don't worry about it.
Usually iPhones brand new out of the box have at least 40-60% charge. You can just turn it on normally for first time set-up. Even Apple stores do this for new customers. If you are restoring from a backup, then I would go through the setup with the phone charging in case it ran out of battery.

But other than that. Don't worry about it. Just turn it on, set it up, and then charge it when you need to.

It’s supposed to help with longevity in relation to battery health. I would never do such a thing though as I am quite a busy person who doesn’t spend all day inside a house, nor do I have time or patience to baby my battery by charging at 40% and stopping at 80%. The people who do that must have OCD to some extent because it really isn’t normal behaviour.

Guys thanks for all your help...could I make a digresion and ask a related question; maybe It sounds stupid but I will ask no matter what (OCD maybe lol)..when You plug in your adapter do you first plug Your adapter in to the socket and then to the phone or contrary?
Maybe It sounds strange but on my Lenovo tablet in My instructional manual It says that device should be first pluged into the socket and then to the phone.
What Is Yours opinion?

My charging plug is always plugged into the socket but, at times I’ve the plug turned on before plugging the cable into the port of my iPhone. No harm seen.

Don't bother that much! :) Turn it on! And then check the battery life And charge your phone when required just don't make it fully null! There is no hard and fast rules of using an iPhone which one should follow! Just Enjoy!!!

Hi there, check out videos on YouTube about the iPhone 13, some of them tell you the first thing you should do with your settings, mostly to do with prolonging the battery life, great info, enjoy your new phone, I love mine.
