I had my iPhone 13 Pro **** itself today after getting temp readings and turning off. It wouldn’t power back on so I went to Apple and they said it was “liquid damage”.

Anyway, I need to replace my phone. They didn’t have iPhone 14pro at all in the store so I had no choice but to get a 13 pro again.

I was told that I would get $920 trade in towards a iPhone 14 pro if I traded in the phone I got today.

Should I do it and get the 14pro or stick with the 13pro. I didn’t have any intention or interest in upgrading before but in this situation it almost makes sense.

Depends if Dynamic Island is something that tickles your fancy. They’re basically the same phones so there is nothing really between them. If having the best camera phone is important to you then the 14 Pro might make sense. I’d personally keep the 13 Pro.

Why not monitor availability of the 14 Pro and return the 13 Pro once you are able to reserve one? You should have a 14 day return window on the 13 Pro you bought. Whichever decision you make, you’ll still have an excellent phone.

Reading the comments I wanted to ask if you take a lot of picture? If you do the iPhone 14 pro would be the best over the 13 pro as it has better cameras and better software for that camera!

i can order it via the website and it will arrive this week, my question is, is it worth upgrading or leave it as it is?

How much extra would you have to pay for the 14 Pro above what you paid for the 13 Pro replacement? If its another $100 or so I would definitely go for the 14 Pro. Of course everyone’s needs are different so if the 13 Pro is doing all you need then it may not be worth it to you.

How much difference? The 14 pro comes with a lot of improvements you will get a higher price if you sell it and it will have a fresh battery.

Yeah you might as well get the 14 pro. It’s not necessarily that you’ll be disappointed by the 13 pro, you probably won’t, but more that if you’re shelling out that much money anyway, what’s another 50 dollars?

The 14 pro 512Gig is $2234. The $899 was to replace my current broken iphone 13pro out of warranty. The additional price for the 14 pro would be another 900 ish bucks.

I'm based in Australia.

Uhhh, for that kind of money? Hard pass. The only reason I have a 14PM is I changed providers, and the deal was too good to pass up. There was nothing wrong with my 12PM. I think just keep what you have and update when something breaks.

And yeah I get now that we’re talking AUD. Even for 500 USD, it’s too rich for my blood.

Wow so it’s additional 900 for the 14 pro. That’s a lot. Is there something you really need what the 14 can offer and the 13 not? E.g. you need that SOS satellite functionality Because you don’t need an additional device anymore? Or you take a lot of photos/videos and need the best quality possible.
if not keep your 13 pro.

You are still in 2022, I’d say **** it and go for the upgrade. Perhaps get AC+ this time around.
If you think the following won‘t improve your user experience, then it is wise to stick with your new 13P.
-Brighter display that doesn’t dim as often.
-Always on display
-Island
-Camera
-Speed+
-SOS
I am happy with everything on the 14 pro except its weight and size of cameras coming from 12Pro.
