Apple released bright colors
MR forum: make urine jokes

Still waiting for a youtuber to compare all yellow Apple products, from this new iPhone to the old iPod nano.

Despite its association with cheerfulness and warmth, yellow carries a surprising number of negative connotations. Yellow is a symbol of cowardice, of sickness, and of mental illness. It’s the color of sensationalism and even of excess. Vibrant yellow is typically used with caution by designers, though paler yellows can certainly have a modest uplifting effect. Too much bright yellow can easily overwhelm a project.

The color is refreshing in some ways, its been raining so much for the past 6 months this is like a little sunshine.

It's a bit sad that a simple new color is what makes news these days. And also, how cheap is that to only give such a poor color choice ?

Car makers have faced this issue for a very long time, and they all figured the solution : have a base set of colors everyone likes (black, white, silver, gray, red, blue) or at least doesn't dislike, then have a few "exclusive colors" for this model (gold-yellow, electric blue, matte gray,...) with a small price increase, and for those wanting the luxury service some built-to-order colors from a large list with a hefty premium on the price (wine red, olive, pink, etc...).

This works for for everyone: consumers are happy with the options (they can get the color they can afford, the trendy one or the one they absolutely want) and the margins on the options allow the manufacturer to squeeze even more out the consumer's pockets.

But no... here's Yellow. Eat this, peasants.
Somebody pointed out to me in a brochure that one color costs an extra $800 to $1500 (or something). Reason here is in order to get that color, they have to apply 8, separate coats of paint and spraying to it, while waiting for it to dry and settle after each application. Too rich for my blood, but it is neat to see options are there nonetheless.

I really do dig yellow. It's not just "the color of gold", but it's also a color I genuinely like. Makes it stand out, and when my iPod Touch 5 fell underneath my car seat, finding it was fairly easy, vs. black exterior colors. Speaking of which, I'm still carrying around my (yellow) iPod Touch 5, so it was a bit puzzling to hear all this "fanfare" about a yellow iPhone 14 when it's a color that's been available for over a decade (although I will aknowledge people didn't really care about iPod Touches even back then :\ )

I had one in my hand a few minutes ago. Not my personal choice of yellow, actually I can only think the Asian market as a target of this type of color.

You need a Yellow Rain Coat for the rain, not a yellow iPhone. 😭😭

too little too late...who wanted the Plus already had it...

Many will just buy another one. There are so many 'rich' people in the world. I've known people that were very rich, and collecting bunches of certain goods seems their only purpose. Several watches, iPhones, Mac Pros, cars, homes, boats, ex's, etc, etc, etc...
