iPhone 14 Pro Availability Improving as Holidays Approach

Son’s partner walked into an Apple store last week and bought an iPhone 14 Pro in the color she preferred right then and there. She said she asked about availability and they said it was in stock and that was that. The moral I guess is to keep asking.
I ordered my Pro Max on the 12th of November and the ETA from Vodafone was early January, but I got a notification last night suggesting they were preparing my order for delivery today
You’ll almost certainly have another color option then as well, if the last two years are anything to go by.

Yea yesterday was 6/12 for a PM 256 Purple at nearby stores. today 10/12. But the shiping slipped three days to 1/16. That's not better supply to me. Is it just mostly going to stores? Maybe to reward the ones that know to check stores? You would think people would be wise to this by now and start canceling shipping orders to get in store, and then the dates should fall back
Yea I'm confused. On the shipping side, I see zilch to show it's normalizing. It slipped forward three days since yesterday. Now stores definitely are better.
It seems like in bigger metros they mostly are available. I'm closest to Madison and they have not had any outside of a few 512 gig and 1TB models when I've checked, including pinging their business rep. Likewise in one of their Milwaukee area stores. However most Chicagoland stores seem to have most SKUs when I've checked.
I eventually got it at December 22nd which was perfect as it was a Christmas gift for my GF
Availability has been bad yet in all the bars, restaurants, train stations I have visited I am yet to see one in the wild. It was like that with the iPhone X though as it was about 5 months after release when I saw the first one being used by someone.
