Can't decide wether to get the 14 Pro 256gb or get the bigger Pro Max model.

I have a 12 Pro Max, and not sure if I should downsize this time? I must say I do find the Pro Max sometimes uncomfortable to hold as I have small hands but I am scared that I am going to miss the bigger screen and battery...

My wife and I have had Pro Max phones since the 6+. Those that I know with the Pro phones (outside of these forums) do complain about battery life. My mother in law has a Pro and it definitely fits in the hand a lot better but she charges it a lot more and because of that battery health is a lot less than our phones.

I've debated getting a Pro as well. The way I look at it is - do you have an iPad? A Macbook? How much time do you spend on your phone? I rarely use my iPhone but I have an iPad mini and a MBP. My wife uses her iPhone all day long even when sitting at her MBP. She doesn't even think twice about a Pro Max. Me? I'm considering a Pro but I think I'd regret it.

I do use my phone a lot and I don't have an iPad. I have an MacBook Pro.
I think I may just go with the Pro Max tbh. Too many complaints about the battery life of the Pro....

That's my current state of mind as well. I held an iPhone 13 mini in my hand and the wow factor was high but I'm glad I went Pro Max. That screen, that battery life. Doing a full work day flight from 6am to 8pm and having 80% health despite using phone heavily on flight - that is worth it. lol. I no longer take batteries on my work trips anymore.

Doesn't mean I don't want a Pro :D. But I think it's the grass is greener on the other side syndrome more than anything. Tho if you update regularly, might not hurt to try 1 year :p.

Do you have a lot of things turned off to get that type of battery life?

I turned off the background refresh nd the location for some app also the notification screen on time off
Mail push manually
iCloud, backup using data cellular is off
Photo using data cellular off
Analyze data off
auto brightness
LTE auto
Rise up to wake off
always on display off

Why???? Seems silly when paying all that money for a phone when you don’t use the key features.

The iCloud backup always on wifi is better why i will lose my cellular data for it?
I prefer to checking my mails manually

This setting will not effect the phone performance I tune low power mode if I need Without it i had 8 hours STO easily

After 10months my 14Pro is at 97% battery health on iOS17 dev beta 1. Pretty decent.

Got my 14 pro shortly after launch, down to 92% unfortunately. Have AppleCare plus, wouldn’t surprise me if I hit 80 before the two years are up and need a battery replacement. This is with always on display turned off after my first couple of weeks with this phone.
