Just file this one alongside that city with the fake Eiffel Tower they have over there. And the fake Arc de Triomphe, and the fake Washington Monument, etc.

It’s China’s revenge because so many people in the west ripped off kung fu and made kung fu clones.

Lets be honest though, within China all anyone needs is a handset than runs WeChat and then pretty much everything else (games / Money transfers / calls / messaging / etc...) all happen within the WeChat app so there is minimal need for a device that does anything further.

If its cheap and works, excellent, good for them, their choice-their money.

Actually, I am pretty amazed at how Apple manages to keep a lid on detailed specs for its new products for as long as they do, considering that there are probably millions of the new iPhones manufactured already.

The pill and hole thing can’t look this bad on a real Apple device, right?

Insert Padme meme here.

This is what happens when you make your products in China - they sign any and all NDAs etc. to get your business (to make money) and then just violate those agreements and copy all your hard work (to make even more money). This should be of no surprise to anybody these days. I wonder if you factored in all the lost revenue due to their capitalizing on your IP if it really ends up being worth making your stuff in China in the first place... I'm guessing that apparently it is worth it. If there's one thing Apple know how to do it's extracting the maximum amount of money from it's customers - I'm guessing they've done the numbers and it's cheaper to still make everything in China.

Wait a minute, I never saw a fake Washington Monument next to the Bellagio Hotel when I was in Las Vegas 20 years ago. Oh, you meant the other, less famous city with the fakes landmarks.

Gawd, Vegas was my favorite place to take pictures. Day or night, indoors or outdoors, there was always something worth photographing.

Well, I would substitute India, Mexico, and the Far East for China. Not just Apple but most all electronics manufacturers run the numbers and find they can not profitably manufacture in the US.

I find those funny. When I was a kid my dad travelled over there for work and got my brother and I fake Rolex watches. I thought those were funny too.
