Hi all:

I need some help with my niece's iPhone 14 Pro where she forgot the passcode (besides breaking one camera cover, grr...).

I tried to reset it to factory conditions with my Macs but to no avail. I successfully turned it into Recovery Mode, it was detected by my Mac (shown in Finder) and indeed I was asked if I'd want to update or restore the iPhone.

However, whatever I click nothing further happens. I tried this on two different Macs (a iMac M4 and a MBA M2; both on latest Sequoia) but nothing more happened. See Screenshot. After 20min the iPhone exits Recovery Mode automatically as it should.

My niece confirmed to me that she removed the iPhone from her Apple ID.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Magnus

Have you tried using a different cable?
You're a scholar and a gentleman! The 3rd cable solved it - finally - thank you soo much for pointing me what should haven been obvious. So happy now! Cheers from my niece as well...
