Just been comparing iPhone models and noticed this while doing so ‘ProRes video recording up to 4K at 30 fps (1080p at 30 fps for 128GB capacity)’

Is this purely software or does the 128gb model have an inferior camera compared to the other models?

Sorry if this has been explained elsewhere, I’m not the most tech savvy person.

The cameras are the same. It because the files would be so big that a 128 GB would run out of space to fast.

So the cameras are exactly the same?
So what can the higher storage models do that the 128gb can’t?
I have a 128gb 13 Pro Max now with still over 75gb storage left.
I’m just deciding whether to stick with 128gb 14 Pro max but don’t want to if it’s an inferior model.

The 13 Pro had the same limitation, this is not new.
The only missing feature is 4K resolution when filming in ProRes.
You most likely do not need ProRes except if you plan to edit your footage in a video editor such as Final Cut Pro.

And this leads me to ask, should we go with 128gb or 256gb? I have had an iPhone 8+ 256gb and never passed the 100gb. So I ordered a 128gb 12PM 2 years ago same thing not going above 100gb, I am at 70gb as I speak. I have the iCloud family plan with 2.2tb and I synchronize absolutely everything that can be on iCloud. So as of now I have ordered the 14PM 128 and 256. Still undecided about which one I should keep/cancel.I am a “normal dude” not a photographer or video professional.
So on one hand I believe 128 could make it even though 256 maybe more comfortable and a best resell. Thoughts?

This. 💯

Just but the storage variant that fits your usage, if you do use ProRes then go for 256GB, though honestly if you are someone who NEEDS ProRes either get a 1TB model or get a full blown video camera.
